Software Engineer, Teacher, and Musician in Durham, North Carolina
I'm the Exhibits Engineer at the Museum of Life and Science in Durham, North Carolina. My interests include Electronics, Music, Computer Vision, and Molecular Biology -- specifically, directed evolution and building lab equipment from discards. I was on the Board of the Scrap Exchange for nearly 10 years. I've written a play about Kurt Goedel and a Suite inspired by the laying of the Atlantic cable. I like to build Theremins because they illustrate how adding logarithms is equivalent to multiplication and the usefulness of the trigonometric identity 2sin(a)*sin(b) = cos(a-b) + cos(a+b) -- e.g. the heterodyning that makes radio possible.
