Following twenty years working as a chemical engineer , manager, board member with ICI PLC and its subsidiaries worldwide I now balance my time between my consulting company ICC Pty Ltd and voluntary work with university and community organisations.
Following graduation from Monash University in engineering, my first job was with ICI Australia as Sulphuric Acids Superintendent at Yarraville Victoria. This involved the direct management of 60 staff in running the 540tpd contact plant and chamber plants, and in coal fired and waste heat steam turbine energy for the Yarraville site and connected to the grid. Later experience included commissioning and running ICI's first extrusion compounding PVC operation at Deer Park, Victoria. Then, following responsibility for Polythene film operations in NSW, he was appointed Staff Manager of ICI Australia in Melbourne in 1980.
