Peter Roos
Peter Roos is a San Francisco based composer and sound designer. Born in the Netherlands, 1988 Peter graduated from the conservatory of music, one year later followed by law school. Peter is admitted to practice law in California as well as the Netherlands, and has practiced law for nearly two decades at Baker & McKenzie, the international law firm. Peter has scored a number of short films, most recently "You're Cordially Uninvited" which will be screening at various film festivals in 2011, including Frameline 35. For one of his scores (“Look Both Both”) he won the “Best Music” award at the Seven Day Film Festival (www.sevendayfilm.com). Peter is signed to several production music libraries which are specialized in production music for film and TV. He is member of ASCAP (the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers) (www.ascap.com), West Coast Songwriters (www.westcoastsongwriters.org), G.A.N.G. (the Game Audio Network Guild, www.audiogang.org) and the International Association of Composers (http://www.iacomp.org). Peter also co manages the West Coast Songwriters’ monthly San Francisco songwriting competition (7:30 pm at Cafe Royal, 800 Post St @ Leavenworth, even fourth Tuesday of the month, www.westcoastsongwriters.org and was one of the screeners for the 2008/2009 Just Plain Folks Music Awards for the categories classical music, European vocal and acoustic guitar. He is currently enrolled in a Master of Fine Arts program (Music for Visual Media) at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California.
