Job Title: HSE Manager

I have lived in Dubai since November, 2010. I joined the Move One team shortly thereafter. My main responsibility at Move One is to improve, expand and administer the company HSE program and set it up as necessary in new facilities and locations throughout the region where Move One has operations.

I am living in Dubai with my wife Sue. My children are grown up. My son, Mark, is 31 and lives with his wife, Priscilla, in Calgary, Alberta where he is finishing his plumbing apprenticeship. My daughter, Sarah, is 30 and lives in Kitchener-Waterloo, Ontario where she works in global mobility for RIM. As we have known Curt and Erika Clements for a long time and Move One was rapidly expanding in this region, Curt asked me if I would consider joining the company. I currently live in Jumeirah Beach Residences, where my wife and I enjoy panoramic ocean views, walks along the beach and numerous fine restaurants. In my spare time I enjoy dragon boating, learning to scuba dive and plan on trying skydiving.

Whenever I have visitors we take them to see the musical fountain at the foot of the Burj Khalifa, the unique malls, such as Mall of the Emirates, Dubai Mall, Ibn Battuta Mall and Souk Medinat Jumeirah. A desert safari is a must, as is time spent at one of the Jumeirah beaches. There are so many great restaurants in Dubai that it is hard to pick one outstanding one. We did not know of Ruth's Chris Steak House until we came here. Probably the best steak I ever had.

In the next year I would like to visit more places in the region, like Fujairah, Ras Al-Khaimah, Al Ain and Hatta and some slightly farther like Oman, Qatar and Sri Lanka. When I think of my home country, I miss our families and children in Canada.
