Recruiting people into new careers is something I have always taken a great deal of personal satisfaction from. That, and building businesses is what I love doing. So late in 2011, I decided to establish my own company, using my experience in the science and technology industry, to help companies with great opportunities, find great people. Today my company, Insight Management Services, improves business performance for Clients by finding exceptional new talent and supporting their marketing objectives.
We specialise in a very focussed niche that perfectly matches our expertise. So when you work with us you can be sure we understand your business and your technologies. We work with scientific and technical instrumentation companies, managing recruitment assignments from the MD/CEO down through the organisation but, only in Sales, Customer Support and Marketing.
I have been involved in the scientific and technical instrumentation field for over 27 years since I started my PhD in Atomic Spectroscopy. I started my career in the pharma industry at The Wellcome Foundation but there was something missing. I wanted to take my science background into a commercial role, so I identified a Technical Sales position with Philips Analytical and never looked back.
Philips is renowned for its training. They provided an excellent grounding in the commercial world of laboratory instrumentation, in the UK and in many markets globally. After 2 years I became Global Sales Manager for a portfolio of products, building budgets for a $20m business, contributing to overall business strategy and delivering growth.
Throughout my career, my focus has remained with laboratory and technical instrumentation in global B2B markets. I have worked at Senior Management level and gained wide ranging experience in areas such as spectroscopy, chromatography, metrology, micro and nano-positioning, optics, photonics, microscopy and imaging.
I have repositioned companies, created and launched brands, established sales and marketing functions from the ground up, built distribution networks in global markets, established subsidiaries in Europe and Asia and implemented market penetration strategies in North America.
I have learned that hiring someone into a new position, which is often a life changing opportunity for them, is exciting, rewarding and a real privilege for me personally.
