I first began working in the mental health field in 1993 as a Psychiatric Services Officer and have held positions including Researcher at the Centre for Rural Mental Health & RMIT's Globalism Institute; Senior Clinician on a Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team; and employment with the Royal Melbourne Hospital (Psychiatric Triage Service, Youth Access Team, Eating Disorders Unit & ECATT). Previously, I have also developed and led community development and life skills programs with the St.Kilda Football Club (AFL), Melbourne Storm (NRL) and AFL Foundation as well as mentoring Indigenous leaders in my role as CEO at Unity Foundation Ltd.

My currently research includes a PhD in the identification of effective therapeutic interventions when working with people diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. I am Executive Director at the Centre for Mental Health Education a company I founded in 1999. I also work part-time with Alfred CATT/Triage in a senior clinical/educative role and am an Adjunct Lecturer with Griffith University.
