Peter Mills

My name is Peter Mills and I am a professional portable appliance tester (AKA PAT), based in the Stoke area. I aim to have my own PAT business one day, but for now I am working with a good friend and learning my trade from him - Dave Manley of safetypat.co.uk

I am educated to Degree level (in Business Studies), and have worked in the electircal safety industry for the last 7 years. Before that I was working in an office role, which bored me to tears to be honest! With this role, I get to travel every day, visit lot's of different places, and meet great people.

The work is also highly valuable as testing appliances is critical to preventing accidents. When we do PAT testing Stoke on Trent businesses, we often find the equipment used most, such as kettles or microwaves, can be the most risky! A good check of the electrics and wiring can help to prevent hazards and also ensure that insurance compliance is met - hugey important for most businesses!
