A physician with Rehabilitation Associates of the Midwest, Dr. Peter Blendonohy, coordinates care with colleagues and staff members at a high-volume inpatient medicine unit. He works with diverse patients who are engaged in rehabilitative regimens encompassing speech, occupational, and physical therapy. Dr. Peter Blendonohy maintains fellow status with the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and also has longstanding affiliation with a number of Chicago area hospitals.

Dr. Blendonohy serves as Illinois Army National Guard colonel and holds chief surgeon responsibilities at the state level. He has taken part in three Iraqi deployments, as well as one in Afghanistan. His efforts for his country have earned him the Combat Action Badge and the Meritorious Service Medal Award.

Among Dr. Blendonohy’s accomplishments was taking a team leadership role on a mission to the Ukraine. He also presented on patient medical evacuation at the Ukrainian Military Medical Academy. Dr. Peter Blendonohy has a passion for traveling and reading, and particularly enjoys books on historical topics.
