A retired physician in Davis, California, Peter E. Droubay, MD spent more than 40 years as a hospitalist and outpatient clinic doctor. Most recently, he served as an internal medicine provider and skilled nursing hospital provider with Sutter Medical Group. Peter E. Droubay, MD also led several facilities as medical director and spent six years as a family medicine preceptor for physician’s assistant students at the University of California Davis Medical Center.

Outside of his work in internal medicine, Dr. Droubay maintains a professional interest in diet and nutrition. He holds a master of science in public health nutrition from the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. He has published work on the effects of dietary fats on serum cholesterol and tissue oxygenation. Certified through the American Board of Nutrition, he is a long-time proponent of a plant-based, whole foods diet.

Since retiring, Dr. Droubay stays active through a combination of stretching, walking, golfing, tennis, and swimming. He likes to play sand volleyball when at beaches in San Diego. He keeps up with medical field, especially in the field of plant-based medicine. He agrees with the sayings of Hypocrates, 'Let food be thy medicine, and medicine be thy food'. He is an active health consultant for many members of his church community. He also enjoys studying Greek translations of the Old and New Testaments and participating in weekly fellowship groups with the Grace Valley Christian Center members.
