I am a translator and writer with interests in culture, politics, and the public sphere, and with bylines in Salon, Inquisitr, and other publications.
Formerly a professor at Haverford College and University of Pennsylvania, and 2009 Andrew W. Mellon Regional Fellow in the Humanities, I teach and write on culture and philosophy, and am editor and co-author of The Force of the Virtual: Deleuze, Science and Philosophy (University of Minnesota Press).
Residing in the Czech Republic on and off since 1994 (and permanently since 2016), I currently work as translator for the Institute of Czech Literature, Charles University Faculty of Arts, Museum Kampa, and other cultural institutions. My recent translations include Richard Müller et al., The Emerging Contours of the Medium, and Petr Forman's stage adaptation of The Conference of the Birds.
