I'm the founder of the New Zealand Science Media Centre and a technology commentator for the New Zealand Listener, RNZ and Newstalk ZB.

Before setting up the Science Media Centre in 2008 I was the technology editor for the New Zealand Herald and contributed to a wide range of tech-related publications.

In 2009 I founded the Sciblogs.co.nz science blog network, which is one of the Top Ten most visited blogs in the country.

I'm a trustee of the Harkness Fellowships Trust, which offers $35,000 fellowships allowing emerging leaders to undertake research projects in the US and was lucky enough in 2013 to undertake a Fulbright-Harkness Fellowship myself where I looked at not for profit public interest journalism.
