My Love For Traveling:

I have always had a natural affinity for traveling around the country and the world to see new places. This is largely because I grew up traveling with my family constantly due to my parents putting a high importance on being well traveling and having an understanding of foreign cultures. My family tries to go on trips to places we’ve never been almost every summer. I have travelled all over the globe from a mission trip in Johannesburg, South Africa, to the beaches of Normandy, France. Mostly recently I traveled with my family this past summer all over central and eastern Europe to countries like Switzerland, Germany, Austria, and Greece. One characteristic that couples with my love for travel is my love of history, specifically World War II. Having this interest in World War II history, I especially enjoy traveling to famous sites from the war such as the beaches of Normandy and Point Du Hoc in France, the Reichstag in Berlin, and Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. I personally believe that it is essential to put an importance on traveling because it allows us to fully understand cultures that are very different from our traditional, American culture. Traveling has been a large part of my life so far and I hope to have the ability to continue travelling and seeing new places and hopefully, someday, teach my future children my love of traveling.
