I'm Peter Jev, and my journey has been anything but conventional. What started as a passion for storytelling in traditional broadcasting has evolved into a mission to revolutionize how African creatives and journalists work in the digital age.

Currently, I serve as COO at Nerdspace in Kaduna, where we're doing something special. We've built professional music and visual studios that give Northern Nigerian creatives the tools they once thought were out of reach. Since August 2024, I've been working to tear down barriers and help talented artists take their ideas from concept to completion without the traditional gatekeepers.

But I'm not just about managing operations. In late 2025, I launched Abaver AI, my passion project that combines my mass communication background with self-taught coding skills. It's a digital assistant specifically designed for African journalists, essentially a brainstorming partner that helps newsrooms move beyond the same old stories and discover fresh, compelling angles rooted in our local context.

My path here has been diverse. I've been Global Editor (Africa) for Afros in tha City, a columnist at Jaguda.com writing about music and culture, and held leadership roles at various radio stations, including Head of Programs at Hyai 89.5 FM. Each role taught me something crucial about how media shapes narratives and how we can reclaim those narratives for ourselves.

Between 2018 and 2020, I worked in A&R at Uptime Records, where I discovered and developed artists. I also led the expansion of the Nollywire community beyond Lagos into Abuja and Kaduna, because I believe talent exists everywhere; it just needs the right platform.

I hold a B.Sc. in Mass Communication from the University of Mkar and certifications in Google Ads, Digital Marketing, and YouTube Music. But perhaps what defines me most is my belief in "narrative reclamation": using technology and media to showcase the incredible creative potential that exists in every corner of Africa, especially in the often-overlooked regions.
