Peter Shaw

I was born in Hong Kong but have lived most of my life based in sunny Western Australia, although I am now once again living in Asia, specifically Singapore. I enjoy technology, the endless possibilities of digital media as well as everything creative, from digital illustratiom and writing to painting and music.

I am currently based in Singapore working social media entertainment platform 'migme' as the Head of Marketing. migme is a cross platform social network focussing on emerging markets like Indonesia, Nepal and India and is listed on the Australian ASX.

One of my major passions is travel and I run the popular travel blog: Nomadical Sabbatical which features travel stories, thoughts, philosophies and insights into the world of long term travel. I initially created the blog partially as a means to help fund a 12 month world trip and partially to have the opportunity to regularly practice writing, a hobby I enjoy.

The blog has spawned off various media engagements with posts being occasionally published across the News Corp Network in Australia including the major news websites: News.com.au, The Herald Sun, The Daily Telegraph and PerthNow.com.au in addition to being featured on Sydney's 6PR radio and internationally via New York's Huffington Post.

I have a background in digital marketing and advertising, a degree in Creative Advertising and a Masters in Commerce, specifically accounting. I love the medium of film, especially documentary films and enjoy writing, illustration, painting and music.

I have a keen interest in digital entrepreneurship and have run several websites, blogs and an e-commerce site around my day jobs and study commitments over the years.

I practice Historical European Martial Arts (German focus) and am very interested in history, the social sciences, psychology and science in general. I enjoy meeting new people, exploring new places, travel, culture and food.
