Peter Sklar is a nationally-recognized talent scout, producer, educator, author, and speaker who has discovered and/or trained such celebrities as Mischa Barton, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Reese Witherspoon. The founder of the Beginnings Workshop, a week-long arts program that prepares young performers for professional interviews and auditions leading to jobs in commercials, print, television, film, dance, and theater, Peter Sklar hosts a free ninety-minute seminar called Getting Started in the Arts, which helps parents and teens to understand the basics of encouraging happy, healthy, and successful young performers in the arts and avoiding the pitfalls of child stardom, including eating disorders, unhealthy relationships, and destructive behavior.

Peter Sklar earned his master’s degree in education with a concentration in adolescent development and counseling from Harvard University and studied concert piano at the Juilliard School of Music in New York. He and his work have been featured in The New York Times, The New York Daily news, and the Chicago Tribune.
