"It is the greatest shot of adrenaline to be doing what you have wanted to do so badly. You almost feel like you could fly without the plane." -Charles Lindbergh
This sums up my past year perfectly. After spending the first three years after college working a desk and dreaming about airplanes, I decided it was time to follow my heart.
In November of 2012, roughly one year after earning my private pilot license, I completed the Career Pilot Program at ATP Phoenix Mesa-Gateway. The journey took me to seven different states and over 15,000 miles across the ground, and challenged me to grow immensely as a person and a professional.
Becoming a flight instructor has led me to realize how much I enjoy teaching and sharing the joy of flight with others. I think my greatest strength is that I have the patience to believe I can teach anyone how to fly.
However, flight instructing is just step 1 in the journey for me..
At this point in time, I feel like I am being drawn to charter because the destination is never set in stone, the planes are more fun, and the interaction with the clientele is very personal.
However, I could see myself flying for any company who provides any of those things paired with a heavy dose of adventure.
It's a personal goal of mine to fly over the Pacific Ocean to Hawaii, which is where I grew up.
