My name is Peyton and I have a younger sister. The family dynamic between siblings is quite an interesting but complex relationship to understand. If you have a sibling, especially a younger one like myself, you can definitely relate. Nikki, my sister, is my best friend and my biggest annoyance at times. Nikki knows just how to make me mad and exactly what I need to make a day better. Nikki is kind but brutally honest. She is loud and her laughter is infectious, however catch her at a bad time and she might actually hiss at you. She is graceful in a tall, beautiful way and loves to dance. Our childhood consisted of the two of us playing non-stop together until I would do something to upset her and, of course like all siblings do, she would immediately run to mom and tattle on me. Though it aggravated me to no end, it was always great to have someone to play with and always relate to. I didn’t have to explain myself, Nikki already knew how I felt at all times. All I had to say is “Mom is getting on my last nerve” and she knew exactly what I meant. I’ve never met someone who could always be my person as much as she could. Though we look nothing alike and we still get the line, “Nikki you have to be adopted!!”, we couldn’t be more the same. Thank you genetics!! Leaving her for college was one of the hardest things I have ever had to do. Having a sibling is one of the most unique, complicated, beautiful relationships in life and I am so thankful that she has been by my side.
