Scholar of English literature, received PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign (2018), with a dissertation on the place of evil in the literature of the long seventeenth century. Academic interests: Spenser, Shakespeare, Milton; ethics, religion, psychoanalysis. Author of "Unknown Sovereignty: Measure for Measure and the Mystery of State" (JEMCS) and co-editor of Milton's Modernities: Poetry, Philosophy, and History from the Seventeenth Century to the Present (Northwestern University Press). Currently teaching English Literature with an emphasis on Shakespeare at the Zhejiang Universtiy-UIUC Institute in Haining, Zhejiang, People's Republic of China.
