I grew up in a small rural town in central Pennsylvania. I graduated with a BS from Penn State and moved to Pittsburgh, PA. I am a true Pittsburgher at heart. I graduated from Duquesne University with my master's degree in Counseling. I have a background in substance abuse counseling and mental health counseling. I was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2003, just 5 months following graduation from Duquesne. And in 2010, I was diagnosed with kidney disease (IgA nephropathy, to be exact). I love life and try to live each day to the fullest. My hope is that I can help others along the way.

I got married in 2007 and my husband is in the USAF. We were transferred to central Georgia and now I am a Yankee learning to live in the south.
