What about me?

Yet another femme au foyer fiddling around creating stuff and trying not to spend too much money doing it? In a word, yes.

This all came about because of where we (me, my boyfriend of 17 years, 3 kids and 2 cats ) live; Saint Martin in the French West Indies.

Think gorgeous beaches, pretty much endless glorious sunshine, rum punch and great lobster. Okay, that’s all true but then think expensive place to live and not a great deal of choice for choosing stuff to decorate your home (and then it stands to reason that the other 3 people (ok there may be more than 3 but you get the idea) who live here probably bought that too. So, I decided that when I saw something I liked or if I had an inspired idea I was going to try to make it myself.

My life pretty much revolves around my family but once my kids are packed off to school/nursery I loll around by the pool drinking cocktails...not really.... I spend this precious time tinkering around with my Silhouette Cameo and pottering around painting/decorating/creating stuff. I pretty much learnt that the only limit to my creativity is my imagination and there are so many great blogs out there to help you get the kind of home you really want. Somtimes things don’t work out quite the way I planned (think total flop) but there are things I’ve somehow or another managed to pull off that are pretty awesome.

So that’s a wee taster of what my (creative) life in SXM is about.
