i think that I was born with a pen in my hand. Writing is something that I have loved, needed, wanted and immersed myself in from a very young age.I wrote lots of poetry and stories in school. It was the only thing that got me through those tough days when I sat alone at lunch and on breaks. It's a part of me that I pray never leaves. As long as I can breathe and move, it will never leave me.
I have lived in small towns for most of my life--except when I lived in Pittsburgh, PA for a while (Go Steelers! More on that later.) before I moved back to South Carolina. By the grace of God, I made it through public school to go to college (Claflin University) and graduate school (Clemson University). I earned my degrees and moved from small town to small town until I ended up in the small town I'm in now. But I want more.
I published my first book of poetry in July 2007, called My Authentic Soul. It's a compilation of poems from college, graduate school and life afterwards. My biggest dream is to live by the sea in Charleston, South Carolina and write my little heart out. I've provided some links to my writing materials on this page. If you like what you see, feel free to contact me about any freelance writing or full-time writing opportunties.
For fun, I bleed orange and purple for my Clemson Tigers on Saturdays and I bleed black and gold for my Pittsburgh Steelers on Sundays. I love reading, writing, listening to music, playing trivia and word games, and hanging out with my family.
