It all started when I started school here at UGA this past fall. I was feeling quite lonely and had nothing to do besides sit inside my dorm and watch movies everyday after class. Ever since my father passed away in 2013, I never really had motivation to have fun or do anything exciting. Life started to become a routine and I hated it. Then one day when I was crossing the evil sea of greeks trying to manipulate sad souls into joining their dark side, I was targeted. I remember feeling quite scared and confused, and I reluctantly retrieved the flyer from a sister in the organization called Delta Phi Lambda. Honestly I never thought I’d ever join a sorority in my life, but when I went to their recruitment events I knew that I had to be a part of this organization. Everyone in the sorority was so warm and welcoming. Being around them made all of my lonely days turn into exciting new experiences. I don’t feel so alone anymore and ever since joining the sorority, I have gained my motivation back. Delta Phi Lambda became a home away from home. This sorority has given me a new family and people who love me unconditionally.
