IT becomes valuable when it helps someone to do their valuable work. As an IT professional, I derive my professional value from learning about my clients' needs and making improvements to IT tools and business processes so they better serve my clients' work.
I am intensely curious and have found that learning is one of my primary motivators in life and the key to being an effective contributor. I spent my childhood exploring everything I could: nature, birds, baseball, music, fencing, science, drawing, skateboarding, computer programming... Everything was interesting to me. My college career began as a music major before switching to physics. Now I enjoy being deeply involved with things I will never stop learning about: my wife, my new daughter, and a career in IT support, access management, and infrastructure.
