After a long and very enjoyable career in software development; primarily managing the design and development of instructional software, I now find myself "retired" but still working full-time in my current efforts to work with other educational organizations and companies. My goal is to help make High School and College graduates more employable by providing access to modern skills-oriented course content and Do It Yourself (DIY) or Makerspaces (places where members or students of all ages can can imagine, invent, and create any type of project they wish using resources of various types, ranging from CAD software linked to 3-D Printers or computerized numerical control, or CNC, milling machines to robotics, to woodworking shops, to sewing, to kitchen spaces, etc.).
Outside of work I spend my time with my wife and my (now adult) kids, and playing music (primarily the guitar). Most of the music I play is with our church's Praise Band, but I do get together with friends and family for a great blues jam every now and then. Oh yes, and I also enjoy sampling the fine products of Salt Lake Cities excellent micro-breweries with friends and family.
My wife and I enjoy the freedom of now having independent children (who seem to rotate in and out of house, which is fine with us) and the resulting trips we can now afford to take to Maui (my previous home for years and our upcoming retirement location). But.... before then I've promised to take my wife to Southern France, including Carcassonneand Nice. Then it will be on to Northern Italy to stay a while with my wife's brother. Then..... back to Maui!
Aloha!
