Hey, I’m Phil. I have recently retired after a full career in the Military where I qualified as an Accountant and achieved an MBA. I then joined the Prison Service as Head of Finance of 2 prisons in Hampshire before taking up the position of Area Accountant in the West Midlands.

I just spent the last few years leading the Prison Service's only public facing contact centre. Here I was responsible for introducing new, innovative services which greatly improved customer service and returned significant savings.

I learnt that I am a firm believer in that if you want good customer service then you must listen to your staff who deliver it.

i became a champion of those people who need to interact with a prisoner, a prison or the service itself (the hidden victims as they are seldom called). I love to innovate, introduce new services, improve existing ones and to put the customer first.

I also support digital services and in particular digital assist services where once again, the customer should come first.

I do speak my mind, bureaucracy is to be challenged rather than given in to - I think.

Although now retired, I still like to keep active and would welcome opportunities where I could help add value.
