Philip Hansen

Above all, I am a follower of Christ. I was born and raised in Papua New Guinea where my parents have been serving as missionaries since 1985. I have received my Associate Degree in Biblical Studies and my Bachelors Degree in Intercultural Ministries.

I am now preparing to return once again to Papua New Guinea for full-time service independent of my parents’ ministry. New Tribes Mission accepted my request to be sent out and in June 2009 issued my ordination for ministry under NTM.

Lord willing, I am returning to Papua New Guinea in the first quarter of 2012 for a four-year term. I will begin by brushing up on my childhood Pidgin English skills which is a PNG trade language. I hope to participate in surveying the reach of the Gospel in PNG with a view to identify as-yet unreached tribes*. Thereafter, I intend to base myself with one of these remote tribes and bring with me the Good News: that Christ came into the world to save them!

I invite you to share with me in the benefits and burdens of this labor through prayer, thanksgiving and financial support as and if the Lord lays it on your heart.

Please, begin praying now that the Lord will soften the hearts of the hurting and lost that I will meet. Participate with me in the Great Commission to spread the Gospel to every tribe and tongue by investing our resources in bringing the Good News!

* It is estimated that there are 850+ different languages in PNG.
