Philip Zuckerman Violinist

20-year-old Swedish violinist, Philip Zuckerman began his violin studies in his hometown Örebro at age of 5. His music career began two years later in fundraiser performances for the charity organization “Världens Barn” and since then he has appeared as a soloist, recitalist, and chamber musician worldwide. He has been featured as a recitalist in Germany, Sweden, Poland, Italy, and the United States, and has performed as a soloist with Camerata Nova at Usedomer Musikfestival.

Beyond the concert stage Philip has been featured on MPBN'S Morning Classical Music with Suzanne Nanze as well as Swedish Public Radio. Philip is a recipient of grants from, among others, the Royal Swedish Academy of Music, the Swedish Order of Freemasons, and the American Scandinavian Society, and was a prizewinner in the 2011 Adelphi Solo Competition.

As a recitalist and chamber musician, Philip has performed in venues such as the Blue Hall at the City Hall of Stockholm, Royal Chapel of the Royal Swedish Palace, and in Gripsholm Castle for Queen Silvia of Sweden, as well as Neue Galerie, Juilliard's Paul and Morse Halls, and Lincoln Center's Peter Jay Sharp Theater.

A devoted chamber musician, Philip has been a featured artist at Usedom Music Festival, Gotland Chamber Music Festival, Casalmaggiore Music Festival, Perlman Music Program's Chamber Music Workshop, and Kneisel Hall Music Festival, and have collaborated in concert with distinguished musicians such as Paul Katz of the Cleveland Quartet and Merry Peckham of the Cavani Quartet. In addition, Philip was a participant for six summers at the Perlman Music Program's Summer Music School.

Philip has appeared in masterclasses with Itzhak Perlman, Donald Weilerstein, Katherine Murdock, Eduard Gratch, Robert Mann, Zakhar Bron. Philip currently studies at The Juilliard School with Catherine Cho and Sylvia Rosenberg. Past teachers include Ulf Wallin at Hochschule für Musik “Hanns Eisler” in Berlin, and Natasha Beshulja in Stockholm.
