In this game, we call life -- thou not so much of a game to me; yet its is my belief -- many rush to cross the finish line well known as success.

I joined life’s race like a tortoise, plodding alone for the same goal as others: success. A climb for personal happiness that started at 12 year old when I learned to play the trumpet. Though creativity was the beginning of a personal fulfillment even if that seed of creativity was new to me at that age, I knew it was something I could keep as long as I continue to develop it.

Then came the introduction to literature where I learned another form of freedom. I learned that freedom occurred --called creativity -- in literature However, creativity at its best is observed when certain rules are observed, complete freedom can be realized as well.

While struggling with my writings as a single man (without the right guidance to have that creativity show itself ) I enrolled in Southern New Hampshire University in an online creative writing class, which, I give credit to my present understanding and continuation toward that well of creativity that I once enjoyed for 22 years as a trumpet player.

In that creative writing class at SNHU, I created character sketches, wrote poems, short stories, and scene development.

So, for me, I think the road to success the speedy enjoys, is their experience. While at the same time, my race to the finish line continues. After all, I think, “Slowly does it every time.
