Phillip Bowe

Raised in Columbia, KY my first attraction was sports, as I played a lot of them throughout my youth, but as time went on I found a love for music that is still very much instilled in me till day. I often use this love for the art of music to express myself when other don’t listen, or simply can’t understand. When I initially began recording music it was only a hobby; but as I green I grew, I loved it more and more by the day. By the time I was 15, I was part of my first group called “Quad Connection”, which consisted of me, and three of my best friends. We spent most of out time at a local Dj’s house trying to perfect out rhymes; these were some of the best day’s of my life, although I thought they would never end, they eventually did, and everyone in the group went there separate ways.

After High School I moved to Bowling Green, KY and took a little hiatus from music and enrolled in College at Western Kentucky University. After the first couple of semesters I had met several folks that were just as interested in music as me. At this point I figure enough time had been spent away from my one and only true love; I started recording with various artist in the local area, and before I knew it, things were starting to feel just like old times. I wanted to start my own label, but wasn’t sure what I would call it, my cousin proposed the name “Darkside Entertainment”, and I agreed, because in my mind I often feel like where we come from is different compared to a lot of the people we encounter. Although the name eventually would be changed to “Dside Entertainment”, it still all meant the same.

By mid 2011 I had became extremely focused on starting up an independent label. So in order to better prepare myself I made the decision to enroll at Full Sail University and pursue my degree in Music Business. This was one of the biggest and best decisions I’ve made in my life. Full Sail has showed me what it takes to be successful in this industry, and I feel like the knowledge I’ve gained no only helps me, but gives me that power of knowledge. In November 2012 Dside Entertainment, LLC was officially formed, so expect to hear from us in the near future. Because at the end of the day, it’s all about Desire, Diligence, and Dedication!
