Orignally from the UK, I've been living in Wiscsonsin, USA for almost 9 years. Ive been married to my wife Stacy for 8 of those. I met my wife at Lancaster University, she was studying abroad. Shortly after I graduated I moved across the pond. Initially I couldn't work, so I settled into house husband mode until my work permit was finalized early in 2007. It took some getting used to. People asking me where i'm from and people saying 'what' every time I asked for water, quarter, corn, or anything for that matter (some things never change!). It's been a good ice breaker over the years, the old accent. People always notice it, they may not say anything right away, but eventually it'll come up.
I've been working as a Lab Technician/Assistant Lab Manager for most of my time here. Testing construction materials such as concrete, stone, soil and asphalt. I like my job. I like being outside, I like seeing different job sites. I generally never know where i'm going to end up when i go to work in a morning. It could be a quiet day of observing, or an 18 hour concrete bridge deck pour.
I like photography. Last year I ventured into the world of DSLR's and i'm still trying to get the hang of it. I am hoping to take some classes soon.
I love growing and making my own food. For a couple of years iv' ebeen growing my own tomatoes and peppers. I just recently ventured into the world of jams and bread making.
I also brew my own beer!
