A graduate of Nashville State Community College with an associate degree in computer networking technology, Phillip Marress began his career in the technology sector in 2009 as a desktop support engineer for the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services. During this time, Phillip Marress installed network printers and used platforms such as VMware. In addition, he oversaw the implementation of a Linux Terminal Server to host virtual instances of education software.

After leaving the Tennessee Department of Children’s Services in 2010, Phillip Marress spent two years as an independent infrastructure site technician. He worked on several major projects, providing first- and second-tier support for computers, printers, and software across multiple sites. He also developed a hybrid-PC setup that distributed a standard-PC setup to more than 250 members of a remote Nutro sales team.

Most recently, Marress served as a senior infrastructure analyst for multiple pet-care divisions of Mars, Inc., in Franklin, Tennessee. Over the course of six years, he managed more than 100 servers across a multi-platform network, while guiding infrastructure integration for acquired companies and handling server-migration projects.
