I am a speech pathologist/educational technology trainer that specializes in augmentative and assistive communication as well as assistive technology for students of all ages and abilities. I teach to many different disciplines including reading, writing and communication skills. I have recently been focused on integrating mobile technology into classrooms effectively, including the ability to read and write using interactive tools. I have been working to bring modern technology into rural special needs schools in South Africa for the past several summers. I am now CEO of the Nika Project, a global technology initiative to benefit special needs students and teachers around the world. You can find more about this at www.nikaproject.org. I love to meet great minds from around the world and to share ideas and experiences. In Marin County California, I run an assistive technology center that serves the needs of over 4,000 special needs students from birth to age 22.
