An award-winning author and historian regarded for his "New Look" books of historical figures and events, Phillip Thomas Tucker, Ph.D. has authored more than 30 books throughout his distinguished career. Upon earning his Ph.D. from St. Louis University in 1990, Phillip Thomas Tucker began working as a professional historian with the United States Department of Defense. He worked with the government agency for more than 20 years. Dr. Tucker authored a ground-breaking biographical account of an Irish-born priest that earned him the Douglas Southall Freeman Award as the best non-fiction book in Southern history in 1993.

In recent years, Dr. Tucker has been interested in the stories of inspiring females over the course of history. He has received positive reader and scholar reviews on books such as, "Anne Bonny, The Infamous Female Pirate," "Cathy Williams, From Slave to Buffalo Soldier," and "Emily D. West and the Yellow Rose of Texas Myth." His most recent book, "Alexander Hamilton's Revolution," complements the popular musical produced by Lin-Manuel Miranda and particularly stresses Hamilton's close relationship with George Washington. A committed historian, he is rarely distracted from his research and writing, although he does find time to mentor underprivileged youth and donate to various Haitian relief funds.
