Phoebe Greenbaum
Throughout her distinguished career in law, Phoebe Greenbaum has served the families and children of New York City. She most recently served as a judicial hearing officer for the State of New York and City of New York's Family Court, in which role she rendered judgments on pending adoption applications. Phoebe Greenbaum accepted this position in 1999, having at the time recently completed a tenure as a family court judge.
In her 21 years of judgeship, Phoebe Greenbaum ruled on a broad range of matters including juvenile delinquency, child support responsibilities, and requests for orders of protection. The New York State Law Reports published many of her decisions, and she completed her time on the bench with only one reversed decision on her record. Ms. Greenbaum has also served as a privately practicing attorney and as an assistant Corporation Counsel of the City of New York.
Phoebe Greenbaum began her career as a graduate of the Brooklyn Law School, having previously attended the University of Cincinnati as well as the Jewish Theological Seminary Teachers' Institute of New York City. Former president of the Brooklyn Women's Bar Association, Phoebe Greenbaum has also served on the Brooklyn Bar Association's judiciary committee. Further, she has participated as a member of the Queens Women's Bar Association and has served several local outreach groups.
