Srinivas Balasubramanian, CEO of India-based Photon Infotech, studied at the Birla Institute of Technology and Science in Pilani before pursuing his MBA at the renowned Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta. Prior to taking the helm at Photon Infotech, Srinivas Balasubramanian served as Senior Vice President at webMethods, now a product suite offered by German company Software AG. Srinivas Balasubramanian also acted as Chief Strategist at Infravio between 2001 and 2005. In 2000, Srinivas Balasubramanian, founder of Infravio, a California-based leading Web services firm, raised the initial venture capital for the company, taking over as CEO in 2005. Srinivas Balasubramanian rebuilt the executive management team, transitioning to a thought- and customer-based approach that boosted Infravio’s place in the Web services and search engine optimization (SEO) industry. The firm’s success culminated with the 2006 sale of the company to webMethods, a $38 million deal Srinivas Balasubramanian orchestrated. Srinivas Balasubramanian’s team at Photon Infotech developed the textbook buying and selling application JitterBook, adding a community element to this popular application in 2010. The free JitterBook Online Study Community allows users to share the material they learn in their textbooks. The product adds to Photon Infotech’s reputation as a next-generation leader, supporting more than 600 customers and thousands of IT projects that assist large and mid-sized companies.
