My name is Phyllis Nieves and I have been as teacher with the NYC Department of Education for eleven years. I work at PS 190 Sheffield School in Brooklyn,NY. My job is very stressful,but I do my best to make sure my students get the education they deserve and push to get the resources they need in the classroom. I truly believe that hard work does pay off in the end. Even though I struggle in the morning I know the work I am doing is important. As someone who came from a working class family I know the economic conditions and the struggle of my students. Everyday I make sure I give them the tools necessary to succeed in and out of the classroom for years to come!
