Piero Manrique

Hi I'm Piero Manrique and I'm an Artist I was born in Lima, Peru in 1981. I moved to New York with my family when I was 13. I began painting with oil on canvas soon after arriving in the U.S. i studied fine arts at Purchase College State University of New York before transferring to the Parsons School of Design in New York and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in architecture in 2005. After completing my studies at Parsons, I worked as a designer and project manager for several large New York-based architectural firms while continuing to paint on canvas and exploring other mixed media art forms, including electronic art and sculpture. In addition to my work as a graphic and visual artist, i'm an avid salsa dancer, performer and choreographer. My dance experience infuses my paintings with a sense of fluid energy and an awareness of the grace of the human body. I call upon both my dance and my architectural design sensibilities in creating my art.
