Pierre Gauthier

As a professional Sound Recordist for the last 20 years,in my carreer, I have encountered most aspects of sound. From live television,radio,news through features and TV drama Films. My background in documentary gave me a great deal of experience in the "direct sound" and is really helpful for my french touch on features Films. One of my pastimes is recording wildlife sounds,especially during my several trips to west Africa, Mali (Dogon). Between Films and documentary,my experience covers a variety of subjects.It has allowed me to travel to many different countries around the world:including france , west Africa, Roumania,Bosnia,Portugal,Armenia..... I spent 3 years in Santa Barbara California with my wife Nadine Wanono. She's a researcher in visual anthropology and a documentary director at the University of California at Santa Barbara. We have three children: Jean,Gabriel,and Kahlia. I can easily make the commute from paris where we live now to... wherever my artistic commitments take me.
