Pierson Backes

Pierson Backes was born in Trenton, New Jersey and is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Pierson received BA from Hamilton College with honors and J.D. cum laude from Temple University. He served as a member and editor of the Temple University Law Review, and was a recipient of the Trial Advocacy Award.
While in law school, Pierson worked at a prominent larger Philadelphia law firm and at the Community Legal Services of Philadelphia. Right now, he is Managing Partner with Backes & Backes, LLC, estate planning, civil litigation and real estate law firm, which lawyers represent clients throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.
Pierson is a member of the Mercer County Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association, and is a member of the Board of Directors of the New Jersey chapter of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys (NAELA).
He has served on the Board of Directors of the Northeast Organic Farming Association in NJ. Pierson was a founding board member and first chairperson of Headlong Dance Theater in Philadelphia, and is a former member of the West Amwell Township Planning Board.
