Pieter du Plessis
Entrepreneur | Brand Builder | Meta-Coach | Founder of GUDGU & My Koekie
Pieter began his career at Sun International, where his passion for communication and people took root. As National Sales Manager for Maranatha Record Company, he built Africa’s largest gospel music distribution network and launched Gospel Direct, the first mail-order and retail gospel chain across Southern Africa.
He later moved into journalism at Times Media before founding AirThis!, one of South Africa’s first PR agencies focused on the fast-growing tech sector.
A lifelong believer in science-based health, Pieter helped introduce Nu Skin to South Africa — a biotechnology-driven anti-aging company pioneering gene expression science. Their ageLOC range is the result of years of genetic research on Youth Gene Clusters — genes that regulate the body’s natural aging process.
Today, Pieter is best known as co-founder of GUDGU — Goedheid Uit Die Grond Uit (Goodness from the Earth) — South Africa’s leading sugar-free cordial brand.
GUDGU offers world-first concentrates with zero aftertaste, crafted from premium natural ingredients and designed for both taste and health.
Every flavour is a bold fusion of innovation, purity, and fun, redefining what sugar-free can be.
He also co-founded My Koekie, a cheeky, luxury cookie brand born from rediscovering his late mother Dottie de Kock’s handwritten recipes — a tribute to her warmth, humour, and the joy she brought into every kitchen. My Koekie celebrates nostalgia and naughtiness in equal measure, showing that indulgence and authenticity belong together.
Pieter describes himself as a professional dad, a builder of brands that make people smile, and a man driven by purpose — to help others grow in health, wealth, and joy.
