Pilar Portela

Pilar Portela is the US Media Relations Manager and LatinoWire Media Representative at Business Wire, a Berkshire Hathaway Company. Pilar has been with Business Wire Florida for more than 20 years. She started her career as a news editor and for the past few years she has been handling media relations. She is responsible for developing, maintaining, and expanding relationships with the Southeastern and Multicultural media, especially U.S. Hispanics. Pilar graduated from New York University (NYU) with a Bachelor's degree in Journalism and from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) where she earned an MBA.

She is also very active with the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) South Florida Chapter where she is a founding board member and with the Gold Coast PR Council (GCPRC) where she currently serves as Vice President.
