Maria Pilar Viviente Solé - 1958 Spanish | Mixed Media Artist, Painter, Pianist/Composer, Author/Writer & Prof. PhD at the UMH.

She is a multidisciplinary artist belonging to the "reflective generation" that came to prominence in Spain towards the end of the 80s (EL PAÍS 16 Ago 1989). Awarded with the Award for the Best National Degree (1987) and the FPI Dissertation Research Fellowship (1988-1992), she has received numerous awards and grants. Doctor from the University of Barcelona (1993) and InSEA member (UNESCO), she is lecturer and PhD advisor at the Faculty of Fine Arts in the Altea Campus, UMH, Elche, Spain, since 1998, where she has been Director of Drawing Area (7 years) and ORI (2 years). She is Agent of Peace, Nipissing University, Ontario, WOMAN of ACTION, Toronto, and Country Representative (Spain) of Voices and Board of Director of Women Worldwide & VOWW-TV, NY.

She has published hundreds of articles both national and international: daily newspapers as Grupo Noticias; magazines as Arte Omega, La Brecha, Km 0, El Temps d'Art, and the Anglo-Indian-International magazine Socialist Factor (Spanish Contributing Editor since July 2015); academic journals as Arte, Individuo y Sociedad, Reencuentro: Análisis de problemas universitarios, Visual Culture & Gender, UMH Sapiens; exhibition catalogs and proceedings books, among others. She also has curated exhibitions.

From 1985 till now she has put on over a hundred and fifty national and international exhibitions in galleries and museums, taking part in Biennales and Fairs, and in the NYFW. Her work is represented in important Museums as MACBA and Private and Public Collections all over the world, and is currently on sale at the following ART GALLERIES: Maeght, Paris; Jorge Alcolea, Madrid; Klaus Kramer LTD, Altea; Contempera, Amsterdam; Art Eterne, New Delhi; Cortabitarte, Soria; Eka & Moor, Madrid; Subastas Duran, Madrid.
