María Pilar Viviente Solé (Madrid, 1958)

Multidisciplinary artist belonging to the "reflective generation" that came to prominence in Spain in the 90s (EL PAÍS 16 Ago 1989). Award for the Best National Degree (1987) and FPI Dissertation Research Fellowship (1988-1992), she has received numerous awards and grants. Doctor by the University of Barcelona (1993) she is lecturer and PhD advisor at the Faculty of Fine Arts, UMH, since 1998, being Director of Drawing Area 7yr. and of IRO 2yr. She is (since): 1997 InSEA member (UNESCO); 2012 Agent of Peace, Nipissing University Peace Research; 2013, Woman of Action; 2018 Country Representative (Spain) of Voices of Women Worldwide & VOWW-TV, NY; 2021 IYS Country Director (Spain).

With nearly 200 publications on her authorship, articles both national and international, she has published in media as Grupo Noticias, The Word UK, Socialist Factor magazine (Contributing Editor -Spain); art and culture magazines as Arte Omega, La Brecha, Km 0, El Temps d'Art, The Blue Lotus, Crisis -Erial Ediciones; academic journals as Arte, Individuo y Sociedad, Reencuentro: Análisis de problemas universitarios, Visual Culture & Gender, UMH Sapiens, Hofstra Hispanic Review; and art catalogs and proceedings books. She has also curated exhibitions and gave presentations at dozens of conferences and round-tables.

From 1985 until now she has put over around 200 national and international exhibitions in galleries, museums, and art spaces, taking part in Biennales and Fairs, and in the NYFW. And she has performed her music in Piano Recitals. Her work is represented in important Museums as MACBA and Private and Public Collections all over the world, and is currently on sale at the following ART GALLERIES: Maeght, Paris; Jorge Alcolea, Madrid; Klaus Kramer LTD, Altea; Contempera, Amsterdam; Art Eterne, New Delhi; Cortabitarte, Soria; Eka & Moor, Madrid; Subastas Durán, Madrid, Paul Cabezas, NY, and Prince Osman Mediterranean Center, Altea.
