Belle✨🌸 ベル

Introverted Post-Graduate Student

Hello, my nicknames are ✨Belle (ベル) and 🌸Sakura (サクラ). I like being called those more than my real name.

Ethnicity:
I am mixed Asian and speak Chinese & English fluently. I was born in Canada.

Education:
I took art classes at Arts Umbrella in Granville Island. I did a little ballet and lots of math at Kumon Institute as a child. I'm now at UBC for Economics. In the future, I would like to go for a PhD, or look for a career in BC, Alberta or USA.

Family Background:
My parents immigrated from China to USA. Dad worked for Apple computers, mom was a flight attendant turned housewife. They immigrated to Canada and had me.

Religion:
I am a mix of Buddhist and Christian beliefs.

My Personality:
I'm friendly, shy, soft-spoken, and polite, but I am an extreme introvert. I like to stay in my room and hermit in for 5 days of the week. I only come out to make a quick meal and use the restroom/shower. I can socialize twice a week on the weekends if roommates/friends want me to. I can talk a lot when I am out of my shell for those 2 days of the week. But then I will disappear for the other 5 days of the week to avoid everyone and recharge. If people try to socialize to me too often, I start to feel stressed and resentful if I don't get my quiet time. Sometimes extroverted people think I'm distant; but that's not the case. I just happen to be on the extreme spectrum of introversion (via Myers-Briggs Test & 16Personalities test).

Mental Wellness:

I was diagnosed with GAD (Generalized Anxiety Disorder) in my teens, inherited from my mom and aunt. This means I need to to keep any stimuli down, and my environment calm and quiet or I will feel stressed and overwhelmed. That's why I hide in my room for 75% of the week.

Physical Wellness:
My body is very fragile. I suffer from a bone disease called osteoporosis (inherited) and fracture easily. I cannot lift, push, or fall, otherwise I risk fracturing more bones. I get bad migraines if I eat too much carbohydrates.

Things I Love:
- small pets

- kindness
- quiet
- pink girly things
- Shabby Chic/Rococo home decor
- France, Parisian culture
- sashimi, anime, board games

Things I Don't Like:
- big animals scare me
- phone calls (I avoid answering)
- being texted too often (anxiety-inducing)
- knocking on my door (sudden noise is startling & intrusive on my quiet time)
- crowds, loud noises, shouting, festivals, flashing lights, bass music (too much stimuli)

Social Media:
I use 1 app called Wechat, to communicate to family, friends & roommates.
