Blue Bell Tearoom

A bit of History
In the 18th century the old village of Kilnsea was quite a substantial settlement, but early 1840s much of the village had been lost to the sea.In 1847, The Blue Bell Alehouse was rebuilt on its present site at the cross-roads(534 yards from the sea).

From 1925 the pub ceased to be a free house when it was bought by Hull Brewery.

Hull Brewery sold the Blue Bell in 1957 after which it was run as a café. A shop was later combined with the café business. It changed hands several times.

In 1991 it was bought by the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust and is used for warden’s accommodation with an information centre and the Blue Bell Tearoom on the ground floor.

In 2009 I gave up a 25 year long career in mental health and took over ownership of the Tearoom. I now combine running the tearoom with regular art therapy and en ecotherapy workshops.
