Support my charity

A former PE & Outdoor Education teacher, my work grew to working in the juvenile justice systems of Australia and America where I taught conflict resolution, emotional literacy and character building skills to young offenders.

I wrote several small books on Men’s Health and conducted programs for Australia’s 2004 Olympic Cycling team.

I became a yoga therapist to stop ‘rusting up’ and find those skills useful to help cancer patients de-stress during times of illness and adversity.

Now at 69 yrs of living I’m the Director of a Cancer Charity; The Grace Gawler Institute for Integrated Cancer Solutions. I started 'Prostate Mates’ Let’s talk about it outdoorsprogram and developed other wilderness awareness (YogaNature) programs, knowing that time in Nature, assists the body’s ability to repair and restore.

I created wilderness modules for cancer patients including a wilderness Experience in Oregon USA called ‘Rafting for Recovery.’

My most recent project to draw attention to our work and impact more cancer patients, is Captain Pip and the Survivor-Ship U-CAN-TRI

U-CAN-TRI is an 18ft canoe converted into a trimaran with the addition of outrigger floats.

The 'support' enables the craft to sail more safely and at greater speed.

U-CAN-TRI will be visiting venues around Australia to draw attention to what is possible with a 5 step cancer recovery formula - a world first.
