Since the introduction of video games as a medium, many have been inspired to debate this question: Are video games a form of art? Eric Zimmerman poses this question to us yet again, but in a slightly different light in his article, 'Games, stay away from art. Please'. Here he attempts to convince us of a single belief, one grand assertion: The classification of video games as art is an argument that no one wants and serves no purpose. This is because art is a subject based on personal taste and opinion. Further, video games are a category all of their own due to interactivity. However, reading the article shows that Zimmerman has some clear opinions of his own. In this blog, I will attempt to frame Zimmerman’s arguments without bias and make the original belief more clear.
