Plaban Roy

Software Engineer in Toronto, Ontario

Data and AI Engineer by trade, builder by instinct.

I spend my days at Sanofi transforming messy pharmaceutical documents into structured, searchable intelligence—think regulatory submissions, clinical trial reports, and quality records turned into something actually useful through AI and vector databases. It's the kind of work where you're constantly asking "how do we make this faster, smarter, more automated?"

Before pharma, I was deep in the health-tech startup world with OmCare.AI, trying to solve the puzzle of personal health data ownership. That entrepreneurial itch never really went away—I'm still drawn to problems at the intersection of AI and healthcare, particularly around longevity and preventive health.

My toolkit: AWS, Terraform, Snowflake, FastAPI, Pinecone, Docker, and whatever else gets the job done. I like building things that work, debugging things that don't, and occasionally untangling the Git merge conflict from hell.

When I'm not writing infrastructure-as-code or arguing with CI/CD pipelines, I'm probably thinking about the next thing to build.

Building a web app, portfolio site, or just want to chat about AI in healthcare? Reach out—I'd love to hear what you're working on.
