My name is Laura Plansky. I am currently a junior at UMass Amherst studying Hospitality and Tourism Management with an interest in pursuing an Economics double major. Club Management has been a field which I have aspired to work in. Working at The Country Club this past summer was a huge and exciting opportunity for me. Especially being able to witness the action behind the scenes of The 2013 U.S. Amateur was unforgettable.
Quick thinking is essential in this industry. I have a passion to help people and make every situation into a good one. I love seeing guests pleased with the service we give them because in Hospitaltiy the guests are the most important part.
While in school I make an effort to get involved in clubs and other activities. I am a member of the UMass chapter of the Club Managers Association of America. Out of school I love to snowboard and be outdoors.
