Dr Lionel Jedeikin has a thriving practice in the beautiful city of Cape Town, South Africa. After twenty years of specialist experience, Dr Jedeikin is highly regarded by his clients, who never hesitate to refer to him as a trusted and skilful surgeon. His interest in plastic surgery was ignited during early days at medical school. During an internship in Kwazulu Natal, Dr Jedeikin was privy to some remarkable cases where he also had the privilege of plastic reconstructive workshops with the prominent Dr Wolf Losken.
Growing up in Zimbabwe, he completed A Levels and went straight on to do an undergraduate medical degree at the University of Rhodesia, (now the University of Zimbabwe), Godfrey Huggins School of Medicine in 1977.
The University had a close association with the Edinburgh University Medical Faculty – the LRCP&S (Edinburgh & Glasgow) and the entire class went to Edinburgh to write their final exams. In 1995 he was awarded his final postgrad degree in Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery FCS (last SA) administered by The College of Medicine of South Africa.
With a love of art and in particular, good sculpture, as well as a penchant for aesthetic sensibility, plastic surgery is the perfect application for Dr Jedeikin. It became his speciality and he remains forever fascinated by the marriage of artistic talent and surgical skills where every nuance and millimetre counts.
