PAL warns about other damage caused by leaks
The Plumbing Association of Lakeside (PAL) has warned homeowners about the other negative effects of leaks in the plumbing system. Speaking during the World Water Day celebration, PAL President Luke Petersen says it is important that homeowners know that water leaks do not only mean higher utility bills to pay, it also means possible water damage, and of course wastage of environmental resources.
“The problem with water leaks is that it can cause water damage that in turn causes molds, and rotting of the property structure. This is more expensive to repair, and when left unattended can cause health and wellness issues, plus it could also affect the value of the property.” Petersen explains.
To give homeowners an idea on what other negative effects leaks may bring about, the website AlertLabs came up with an article discussing the matter. There they mentioned about the wastage plus the possible structural problems that persistent and unaddressed leaks can cause to a home or a commercial property.
